We’re proud to recognize Putnam County Primary School for their outstanding achievement in Oconee RESA’s Lit, Love, Read Aloud Campaign!
This honor reflects PCPS’s commitment to fostering a love of reading and building strong literacy foundations for our youngest learners. Way to go, PCPS—It Starts Here!!

Over the past two weeks, PCPS students took their learning beyond the classroom and into the heart of our community. Visits to the Eatonton Public Library, the Georgia Writers Museum, and the Plaza Arts Center allowed students to explore stories, history, and the arts through meaningful, real‑world experiences.
Each stop brought our ELA unit to life as students reflected on essential questions such as, “Why is the past important?” and “What can we learn from the past?” They were able to connect classroom instruction with the people, stories, and creativity that have helped shape our community.
We are also grateful to the Putnam County Recreation Department for allowing us to use their picnic area for lunch and for helping make this special experience possible. It was a wonderful reminder that learning truly happens everywhere!
