The Scribble Squad is a special PCPS program that celebrates young authors whose creative stories stand out. Students are selected for their imagination, hard work, neat handwriting and LOVE for writing. This initiative encourages all our learners to read, write, and dream big!

All year long, our students have been diving into books, and the more they read, the more chances they earned to win…A BRAND‑NEW BIKE! 🚲
Congratulations to our NINE lucky bike winners! 🎉 And a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who came out to read to our students and helped make this week extra special. Putnam County Charter School System is excited to announce Dr. Carletha Pearson as the new principal of Putnam County Primary School!
Dr. Pearson joins us after serving the past four years as a principal in Clark County Schools. She will step into the role at PCPS following the leadership of Dr. Fanicia Rogers, who has served as principal since 2018.
Yesterday, PCPS teachers and staff had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Pearson for the first time and beginning to welcome her into the PCPS family.
Although Dr. Pearson officially begins her tenure as principal on July 1, she will start transitioning into the role as early as next week, dedicating time to connect with staff members and learn more about the school community.
We are thrilled for the PCCSS community to experience her leadership, energy, and commitment to student success as we continue to inspire, innovate, and excel.

To help kick off this special celebration, several members of our Central Office staff from the Board of Education visited Putnam County Primary School to read to our Head Start and Pre‑K classes. Our youngest learners loved listening to stories and sharing in the joy of reading!
Read Across America is a nationwide initiative that encourages children to discover the magic of books and develop a lifelong love of reading. Moments like these—where students hear stories read aloud, ask questions, and make connections—help build early literacy skills and spark imagination.
We are proud to support literacy from the very beginning and grateful to our staff for taking the time to make this week extra special for our students. 📖
